This Privacy Policy explains how the current version of My Avian Archive™ handles personal information for the app and website. My Avian Archive™ is a Hawk Head Studios project.

Information we collect or process

For the current version of My Avian Archive™, users create an account or sign in to save checklist progress. The app may collect or process the following information:

Account information, such as the email address used to create or sign in to your account.
Saved checklist progress, such as found-bird IDs and related checklist progress for the selected region.
Account support information, such as information you choose to include when emailing support.

Information we do not intentionally collect in V1

The current version of My Avian Archive™ does not intentionally collect:

Precise location data
Photos or uploads from users
Personal notes or sighting journal entries
User-generated bird sightings with exact dates or locations
Payment, subscription, or in-app purchase information
Advertising data
Contact lists
Health information
Push notification tokens

How we use information

We use account and checklist information to provide the core My Avian Archive™ experience, including signing in, saving found-bird progress, showing account-specific checklist progress, supporting password reset/account access, and responding to support requests.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal information.

My Avian Archive™ uses service providers to operate the app and website. These currently include Supabase for authentication, backend, and database services; Firebase Hosting for website hosting; and Zoho Mail for support email. These providers may process information as needed to provide those services.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect account and checklist information. However, no method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account information and saved checklist progress while your account is active or as needed to provide the app, support users, and maintain the service.

You can delete your account in the app by going to:

My Account → Delete Account

In-app account deletion automatically deletes your My Avian Archive™ account and saved checklist/found-bird progress.

If you cannot access the app or cannot sign in, you can request account deletion through the Account Deletion page.

Children’s privacy

My Avian Archive™ is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us at support@myavianarchive.com.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
